Pittsylvania County is the largest county in the state of Virginia, covering almost 1,000 square miles. Our Public Safety Department provides our 61,000 plus citizens many services including E-911, and the dispatching of fire, rescue, and police to emergencies 24x7.

Volunteer Fire/Rescue

Nothing is as strong as the heart of a volunteer. Pittsylvania County has over 1000 volunteer fire/rescue members in over 30 stations and squads covering Pittsylvania County's almost 1000 square miles. Click here for a directory of our Stations and Squads.

Our Fire Marshals perform difficult protective service work coordinating fire prevention programs, overseeing and administering safety programs, conducting fire investigations and managing emergency incidents.
